Distant objects may still be seen clearly, however, near objects generally become blurry. In this case, optical correction results by increasing the refractive power of the optical system such that the point of focus is shifted forwards onto the retina.
Glasses and contact lenses are indicated
in plus diopters e.g. +3.50D. In general, longsightedness up to +4.00D can be treated by LASIK surgery. In the case of longsightedness greater then +5.00D,
treatment is accomplished through an intraocular contact
